Choicest Chess Cake

Recipe time! This is a very easy and extremely yummy dessert. I got the recipe from my friend Sonja- she brought some of this when she brought dinner when I was incapacitated with my back... (and I partly fault her for ruining my diet)....

CHESS CAKE

1 yellow cake mix
1 stick butter (or margarine), melted
1 egg

1 lb. powdered sugar
8 oz. cream cheese
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla

Mix the first three ingredients and press into a 9 x 13 pan.
Mix the last four ingredients (with a mixer) and pour over cake mixture.
Bake at 350 for 30-40 minutes- or until it's golden and not too "shaky". (It took 45 minutes in my oven).

It looks pretty with powdered sugar sprinkled on top!

I just got done baking this and it smells SO good in my house!! I can't wait to have a piece.

You can substitute a chocolate cake mix too! I have this same recipe on my blog. I've made it both ways and both are so yummy!

Is that a stand alone mixer I see to the left of the cake? You have to be into some serious cooking to own one of those things. I'm impressed!

Is it gone already, or should I hurry over? :-)

Oh, now I'm going to fault you for ruining MY diet! That does look really good. Hummmm.... which should I make first, the one with the chocolate cake or the yellow cake???
