Bits of my Life

Libby and Jacob got up early on Sunday and made me some toast for breakfast and this sign and some flowers they picked (strange, those bright red ones don't grow in our yard!) and some sweet cards they had made. It was a very nice way to wake up! Of course, I missed my own mom and wished (for the 1,000th time) that I lived closer to her.

Sonja and I had our second JEZELS Jewels party, this time at The Saving Way. They also had someone there buying gold that night and this picture was taken just before Sonja found out how much her handful of gold was worth. I wish I had gotten a picture of her jumping in the air and clapping her feet together.

After making all that money selling their gold, Sonja and Jan weren't interested in JEZELS anymore. And check out those snacks you missed if you didn't come!

I found this awesome vase at The Saving Way for a couple dollars and then the flowers at Hobby Lobby, although I haven't decided if I totally love the flowers.

I'm still working on the bed side table that I got at The Saving Way for $10... I'm waiting on Tim to attach the new brackets so I can finish painting it... but it's final exam time at the University, so I'll be waiting a while longer. Hope to have pictures one day to impress you with my furniture makeover skills.

I'm also currently reading a book my cousin Kristy recommended on her blog- I'm about half way through it. LOVE it. If you are interested in a closer, more dynamic and awesome walk with God and enjoying the POWER of His Spirit, and understanding why He leads you where He does.... I suggest you run out and get this book TODAY.
Libby scored pretty high on her music aptitude test (I should hope so after so many years of piano lessons)... and has joined BAND for 7th grade!! She will be playing the Clarinet. She was given the choice between Clarinet and Flute and decided against the Flute because she didn't want to have her head turned sideways all the time. Good reasoning! :-)

Jacob continues roller hockey, although I have yet to see a game because of Sarah's soccer games on Saturday mornings. I do like watching soccer- although last Saturday, she played two games in a row and I sat through the first one and a quarter of the second one... had to leave to get Libby from piano... and she scored 2 goals after I left. Those were her first two this season. Tim had gotten there in time to see them, though.

I think that about sums up my life. Just a couple weeks left of school and then summer begins. The kids have a few camps and church related trips to attend... and of course, there is the pool awaiting us. I'll be there soaking up the Vitamin D from the sun and working on my tan. And then I may look for another job for the Fall... or.... I've even been thinking about going back to school. But more about that if it becomes a reality!
Whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. Col. 3:17

I am so glad you loved the book!

Ooohh, so sweet what your Mom wrote. It's like my mom and Granny - always wanted to live near one another, and never did. It always made me sad seeing how much my mom missed her mom.
